Hyundai Korea establishes energy hydrogen business unit to cope with the future $2.8 trillion market
It is reported that under the global trend of accelerating the transition to clean energy, Hyundai Motor Group has established a new energy hydrogen business unit aimed at revitalizing the hydrogen energy industry ecosystem. This new department belongs to the Planning and Coordination Office and will serve as the command center for hydrogen energy business of all subsidiaries of Hyundai Motor, focusing on the production, storage, and transportation of hydrogen energy.
The establishment of this department marks a strategic shift for Hyundai Motor, separating the research and production of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs) from the broader hydrogen energy business. Ken Ramirez joined Hyundai Motor Company from PSA Group in 2021 and has been appointed as the head of this newly established department. It is expected that under his leadership, Hyundai's HTWO hydrogen fuel cell system brand will move forward, providing customized solutions for the production, storage, transportation, and utilization of hydrogen gas.
